[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: The arm of flesh will fail

Read: Psalm 146:three-10

Meditation poetry:

"I will lift upward my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my assistance? My help comes  from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:one-2).

This is what the bible has to say virtually those who put their trust in people  considering they are wealthy, powerful, or connected; "Don't put your conviction  in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last,  they render to the earth, and all their plans die with them" (Psalm 146:iii-4, NLT).

A famous erstwhile vocal says, "stand up upwardly, stand for Jesus, stand in His strength  lonely, the arm of flesh will fail you lot, ye dare not trust your own".

Yes, the arm of flesh will fail yous. Why? Considering as humans, nosotros are fickle, weak, and cocky-serving. We have a natural tendency to look out for our own interests.  Outside of God, no man tin can help another. It is God who wills in us to do of His  expert pleasure. He is the one who holds the hearts of kings in His palms and turns  them to whichever direction pleases Him.

Hither's who the bible prescribes that yous put your promise in:

"Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose promise is in the  Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who  gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. The  Lord opens the eyes of the bullheaded; The Lord raises those who are bowed  downwards; The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked He turns  upside downward. The Lord shall reign forever—Your God, O Zion, to all  generations. (Psalm 146:5-10).

Psalm 123:i-2 says "Unto Yous I lift up my optics, O You who dwell in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the manus of their masters, as the optics of  a maid to the mitt of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until  He has mercy on us". Why non make this your daily prayer.
